Our Story...........

Founded in 1995 by brother and sister team Bobbi & Sahar Hashemi, Coffee Republic grew from a small independent company and quickly became a successful chain of international style espresso bars. Now, over ten years later, there are 74 existing Deli bars and concessions currently operating in the UK with an opening programme of a further 100+ bars and concession throughout 2007/08 in addition to the first international Coffee Republic Deli™. Independent research shows that the Coffee Republic brand is recognised by almost 70% of coffee drinkers. Brand awareness will continue to grow in the forthcoming year with a company strategy to add more Deli bars to high streets throughout all areas of the UK, the striking red and black combination of the interior design proves eye catching and easily recognisable and the logo will be firmly imprinted in the public consciousness. Coffee Republic is now also a leading brand in the UK coffee market, receiving wide consumer recognition and acclaim in national publications and independent market surveys.

Something really rather special is happening. We have been busy re-inventing the way the British enjoy coffee, by bringing together freshly made food with what the press has described as Britain’s ‘best cappuccino’. Our new concept is Coffee Republic Deli™ and until we created the format coffee drinkers had a dismal choice: They could drink great coffee in an espresso bar, or they could eat great fresh food in a restaurant – getting both together was very difficult and with fast service even more difficult to find. Coffee Republic Deli™ not only offers both under one roof, we combine our fresh food offer with truly fast service. It is little wonder that our Delis are meeting the demands of thousands of extra guests every week. Our Deli format is unique; no other coffee bar or café matches our concept. The quality of our coffee is unsurpassed, proven by the tens of thousands of our guests who come back to us day after day – just for our coffee. We have therefore taken just as much care with our new fresh food range. The innovative menu means that Coffee Republic Deli™ offers something else to consumers which can’t be found at other coffee bars or cafes on the high street, differentiating us from the competition and keeping the consumers needs foremost with a wider product range. The result is our guests return even more often, they spend more each visit and they tell their friends. Our market is exploding. The impact on sales has been dramatic and we are now Britain’s first national Deli brand. The time is now right to roll-out our new format! At Coffee Republic Deli™ we employ baristas – who are trained in all aspects of coffee making and now we have added delistas, people who understand how to make the right fresh tasty food for our discerning guests.

Our Offer ........

Coffee Republic Deli™ demands hands-on management, and there is no better way to run a business than with the boss keeping an eye on the job. That’s why we recently started to offer individuals with drive, enthusiasm and a desire to make money, the opportunity to join us as franchisees. The impact of franchisees on our business has been enormous. Every single one of our new hands-on franchisees has seen the level of their trade running ahead of growth in our company owned bars.

There are four ways in which you can choose your route to success

Profit Route 1 - Fast-Start

We have existing espresso bars which we can offer for franchise in Central London, Manchester and Birmingham. Best of all, these units have not yet been converted to our Deli format. On handover, you can benefit right away from the major growth in turnover offered by the Deli concept. Under the terms of the fast-start franchise agreement, you will be able to convert your bar to deli concept in a few days before opening. The cost of conversion is included in the price we agree with you for the purchase of the bar.

Profit Route 2 – A New Coffee Republic Deli

Many franchisees who join us will want to own a brand new unit in a location of their choosing. The difficult bit is however finding the right location. There are two proven ways to go forward:

(1) Find your own location - If you already have a location in mind we will help you to evaluate your chosen site to ensure it meets all of our success criteria.

(2) Guaranteed Location Service - For the majority of new franchisees our Guaranteed Location Service is the answer. This is how it works:

You attend an open day presentation and visit our Deli bar nearby.
You make a short application for a franchise and meet with us one-to-one.
You decide where you want to locate your Coffee Republic Deli™. Depending on your experience of the property market, our property team will assist you with your search and approve your chosen location.

Profit Route 3 – Build an Empire

For a limited number of special individuals there is another option. We are seeking Regional Development Franchisees to operate an entire region of the United Kingdom. You will need to have access to substantial funds and have wide ranging business experience but not necessarily within the coffee or food industries. You will have the opportunity to recruit franchisees to develop more than 25 new Coffee Republic Deli™ outlets in your operational area. You may want to operate your own unit or simply develop and manage the region with our help and guidance.
Typically you will need to be able to invest around Ł200,000, of which at least Ł100,000 will need to be in liquid funds. It will also take some months before income flows begin in this offer. In either event we will then go on to help you to arrange the supply of equipment and the shop fitting operation. We will have our project manager oversee the entire development process to allow you to create your own Coffee Republic Deli™ business.

Profit Route 4 – International Master Franchises

If you are interested in developing a serious chain of 10 plus Coffee Republic Deli™ bars, in a country outside of the UK, please contact our franchise department. Please note we cannot offer franchises for single bars or indeed a small groups of bars overseas at this time.
